Tambourine Queensland

semi-overcast 21 °C

We left Evans Head Saturday 29th April and visited the Aerodrome Museum in the morning. Very interesting, got to go into an F1 11 and Dan and I both had a go at the Westpac Helicopter simulator, we are not good pilots, crashing into houses and sheds, flying vertically. Arrived at Tambourine at my sister's property having to drive via Beenleigh as 3 bridges are still out from the floods. You could see the damage the water left with the amazing heights it reached.

Last weekend we visited our wonderful life times friends David and Deb Lockley, (they introduced us - Dan especially grateful) in Chapel Hill and they took us to Redcliffe, north of Brisbane to visit the birth of the Bee Gees. They have made a walkway highlighting their musically lives as that's where the family settled first in Australia. We had a lovely walk on the pier and had lunch. Visited a English Lolly Shop where Dan tried a 'Mint' which was more like cough medicine, his face said it all. Sunday was breakfast at a lovely rustic café in Brookfield and a visit to Mount Coot-tha lookout where you can view Brisbane. Perfect weather, great company, fabulous friends. Thanks for a great weekend D & D.

Back in Lucy on Sunday night, ordered pizza for dinner, it was Delivered! that's how close the city is now to when they came here 30 years ago.

Big sister's birthday on Monday 8th and we entertained her 2 Granddaughters Amber 2 and Stephanie 4, Aunty Helen The Great tried to cook cup cakes the Steph's help, they turned out more like Rock Cakes but the birthday sponge turned out ok. Dinner at the Logan Village pub, great food, good value.

Allison and Alf have built a new home on their block and have to remove the old wooden/fibro house so we have been helping Alf removing the floor as he has already done the roof and walls. We forgot what mussels are when you haven't used them for a while.

Staying here for another week for Mother's Day with my Aunty Shirley and the rest of Allison's family, then it's Alf's Birthday on Tuesday so we will probably leave the 17th May head north to around the Sunshine coasts.
